I saw my very first windmill while traveling in the Netherlands many years ago, and I vividly recall being struck by its size, strength and beauty. I now see similarities between windmills and psychotherapy, which is why I honour them in my practice name.
Windmills can refine and process wheat into flour, just as psychotherapy can help you refine your behaviours and process difficult past events.
Windmills can pump water, just as psychotherapy can help you manage the flow of your thoughts and emotions.
Windmills can produce electricity, just as psychotherapy can empower you to take action and move towards what is most important to you.
Windmills are also considered an ancient technology, a nod to the inherent wisdom in all of us.
